praca w zbiorach Biblioteki Aleksandryjskiej (egz. z 2003 r.) oraz Muzeum Książki Artystycznej w Łodzi (egz. z 2009 r.)
książka artystyczna, papier artystyczny z roślin, instalacja
trzy elementy pionowe 255 x 21–25 cm opadające na blat stołu, stolika
rośliny: len, morwa – przechodzące stopniowo do struktury papieru, masa celulozowa, papier offsetowy.

Pawła, (1 list do Koryntian, rozdział 13). Każda z kolejnych stron książki prowadzi odbiorcę do innych kontekstów znaczeniowych. Ostatnia strona ujawnia pierwszy werset Pierwszego Listu do Koryntian, rozdziału trzynastego „gdybym mówił, językami ludzi i aniołów…”. Trzy pasy nawiązują do Trójcy Świętej (Nowy Testament).

Between Nature and a Piece of Paper. A Triptych
Held in collections of Bibliotheca Alexandrina (2003 copy) and Muzeum Książki Artystycznej w Łodzi (2009 copy)
Artist’s book, handmade plant paper, installation
Three vertical elements 255 x 21-25 cm, descending onto a tabletop.
Materials: flax and mulberry plant, gradually transitioning into the structure of paper, cellulose pulp, offset paper. The lower section consists of folded paper leaves that can be turned and read.
Text: a deconstruction of the opening verse of The Hymn to Love (1 Corinthians 13:1-13).
The tangle of plants at the top is “transformed” into paper, and in the second and third strips into sheets of paper, gradually forming a Book. On the sheets descending towards the tabletop, the letter “g” appears in a consecutive series. As successive folded pages in the third cellulose strip are turned, they reveal first a word, then a sentence. It is a deconstruction of a biblical verse, the first verse of Saint Paul’s Hymn to Love (1 Corinthians 13:1-13). Each subsequent page of the book leads the viewer into new layers of meaning. First, the letter “g” is visible, referring to something that might not yet possess meaning, something that is not yet a sound because it lacks a vowel. Perhaps it foreshadows thunder or a muffled sound coming from the throat. For now, it defines nothing, names nothing. On the next page, the phrase “if I” (“gdybym”) appears. It evokes possibility, the various directions that could be taken. On the following page, we read the sentence “if I speak” (“gdybym mówił”). Language comes into being together with its structure. In the artist’s conception, this refers to the performative and creative power of words. The final page reveals the first verse of Chapter 13 of the First Letter to the Corinthians: “If I speak in the tongues of men and angels…” In the artist’s view, this is the most beautiful and important text on love, one that defines the essence and meaning of human life. The floral elements are intended to refer to nature, which can never be fully deciphered or comprehended by human beings. Only through the process of naming can understanding take place. Even then, complete knowledge will come only “face to face.” The vertical elements in the composition allude to God’s manifestation in a pillar of cloud in the Old Testament. The three strips refer to the Holy Trinity in the New Testament.
